| The past week I've just been going about my daily life, except with a few events that made my week all the more enjoyable.
Since I'm leaving next Tuesday (ALREADY!!!), I've been crazy scheduling to get together with friends, so that they can pass me their wishlists and give me instructions on what size, colour and design I should purchase for that particular shirt in case the stuff don't fit..... . .. . .. . . ..... .. ..My email address is on my profile page, which is on the top left column of this page, should you also want to participate.
Photo vomit!
K-ing with my sisters + Daniel (thank you for the treat!! My sisters send their LURVEEE!) + his come-and-go friends. We had this huge-ass room, which could fit about 20 people at the same time but that night it was totally under-utilized, to ourselves. 10 hours next time!

Jieshan's baby boy's 1st month!! Tiger is mad cute..... I want one too!!!

Dinner with the Pond Comm! Still very resolved to meeting more than we did last year.......... .. . . .

Driver's Club Exclusive! Membership strengthens with more driving eh....

Full-day training and then Beerfest with the GESSbandians tomorrow! CAN'T WAIT!!!

| I am an official unofficial GRADUATE! YAYNESS!!!
But I am also broke but that's temporary. Hurhur...
Let's see.. right now basically I'm counting down the days I have left before I leave for Seoul to attend summer school!! Yea ok I know I'm actually done with university, but Wendy and I figured we might as well have some fun before we waste our lives away on work. SO! We signed up for the International Summer School program with SKKU (Sung Kyun Kwan University), and I'll be away from 22 June to 7 August! Technically the summer semester lasts for a month, but since we're already in such close proximity to Japan, why not visit Japan as well? Spending 2 weeks in Japan, free & easy! Anyone who has advice on getting about in Japan, do let me know! Any help at all on transport or sights would be great.
In preparation for my big trip, Dad got me a Canon Powershot S90! Been chronicling my time with the team since I got the camera, and we've been spending quite a bit of time together as of late, so here are some snapshots of my life!

If the photos come out in a weird order, it's only because this new format has me confused!

| I've been trying to get used to the fact that half a year hasn't even passed. Travelled, trained, competed overseas, sat for exams, graduated from university.... ...... . ..and it's still May! Just a couple (maybe 30?!) of photos of how I've spent my 5 months since my last update!
March - Training in Hainan Island, Haikou, China with the Zhejiang Team during their 全国沙排集训
At our meal venue where we have our lunch and dinner....
Warming up with the 浙江男队.
Training with the 上海女队.
For when you're not used to training in cold weather when in China........
Their gym!
Shopping for groceries at the friendly 阿亮便利店!
One of the 2 training areas; each area spanned 10 courts!!!
Friendly and training with the 浙江女队!
Leaving from our hotel for training...
Early April - Asian Beach Volleyball Tour in Hat Yai, Thailand
Playing against THA 3 in the centre court at the Songkhla leg
Late April - Asia Pacific Beach Volleyball Tourney in Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia
With the Hong Kong teams!
Yan, our super friendly host!!
And that's really just about it. 2 days after I got back from Batam I sat for my first paper.
I know, I'm good.
HA HA!
More when I decide to post again, which should be soon!
Thanks for reading!

| So I've left this place for a while, and now I'm back. No excuses, and I shall make none for myself.
This year went by in a whirlwind of events. I slept-walk through some, caffeinated my way around a few others but I'd like to believe for the most part I was wide awake, well at least those that involved being overseas, that is.
I think keeping up this web log has become slightly more difficult, given my new circumstances for the coming year. More school, more beach volleyball and hopefully more money-making. Who wouldn't be super occupied in my shoes? But of course, I've said this before and I'll say it again, if you want to know about my life, ask me out and we'll chat for as long as I can hold sleep at bay, which then means you'll have to buy me a double macchiato.
Before the year 2009 ends, I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who've left impressions in my life, good and bad (more less to the bad, of course). These impressions and interactions have helped me (and hopefully you too) to grow and change and hopefully become a better person. So yea, thanks. And happy new year. Have a good one!

| Right, thought I'd pen all this down before I get back on Saturday (have been here for 4 days already!). Am currently staying in Hostel Korea in Sinsoel-dong, Seoul! The place is good enough for a backpacker, I'd say even better than what you'd get outside, and very much worth you money. Plus the staff here are friendly and helpful and they speak anything from English to Mandarin to Nihon-go! So, be sure to check out this place if you're planning on a budgeted trip to Seoul. Moreover, there's a nearby coffeehouse called Ediya Coffee which serves really good and cheap coffees! Avoid Holly's Coffee if you can, it's tasteless like nothing you've ever tried. Lol. Anyhow, I've noticed that many Chinese people populate the tourist areas of Seoul. In Myeong-dong, at least three quarters of the staff are from China! I suppose it's because China and Korea are in such close proximity, hence the influx of migrants. But the best part is, they know 4 languages! I wouldn't mind working in a beauty shop just so that I can pick up 4 languages in a short span of time. Hurhur. They're also dotted all over Korea, so if ever you find yourself lost in translation when you're using English, try saying something in Chinese and see if anyone understands enough to help you translate! I think this is turning into a Visit Seoul Guide entry, haha! I've come up with a list of places that one must visit when in Korea. Will update again once I'm back with pictures! I shall leave you with this: Sparkling, Korea! | | |
